Shape Optimization


Shape optimization is performed in order to achieve the most suitable shape of a system to meet its structural and financial constraints. During the shape optimization process, the constraints of the physical model and the geometric parameters to be changed are determined. Then, physical models are interactively executed under the control of software that uses a “Genetic Algorithm”, until an optimum shape that meets the desired maximum range is reached. For such kind of process that needs many physical solutions, cluster and grid computing applications are very beneficial. (See. Publications 4-6)
